AI Video – here’s the long and the short of it:

Short:

The entertaining AI videos you’ve seen on YouTube and TikTok are about twelve seconds at the most. AI videos created with prompts like “Large scary dragon swallows alligator” are easy, quick work. Creating this video took us only a few minutes (click the videos to start):

Dragon Eats Alligator

That is not a practical application of using AI for business purposes.

Long:

Anything longer than eight seconds, any practical application of AI for business – for example, a 30-second commercial, a marketing video, or a multi-minute training video – takes something more. It takes the experience and expertise we have in storytelling and in film.

The following sequence of scenes for a TV commercial took us almost two days:

Giant Spider Open

AI prompts must get the details right... All the elements in each scene must be specified.

  • Character descriptions: sex, age, ethnicity, wardrobe, personality, actions, more.
  • Setting description: where the scene takes place, interior/exterior, specific objects in the scene, year, season, time of day, the lighting, more.
  • Style: 1950s horror movie, chiaroscuro, photorealistic, more.
  • Camera details: camera used, lens used, camera action, more.
That’s a lot of work.

After an AI clip is rendered for the first time, it must be refined many times to achieve the desired result.

We know how to write and visualize a compelling story (which may require 30, 40, 50 AI clips!) and how to edit those clips together. We know compositing and color grading… how to find and add music… how to design sound effects… how to create transitions, titles, and narration.

And speaking of long, we’ve put in the time to master AI. A newbie may need a whole day to create a usable eight-second clip of AI. We cut that short – we do it in less than an hour. For example, when we started creating AI-generated video, the opening scene with the giant spider would have taken us more than a week. Now we can do it in under two days.

Something to consider if you’re being charged per hour. AI is supposed to be less expensive – we keep it that way. We give you high production values at budget-friendly prices. That’s your competitive advantage.

Click below to see some of what we’ve done. We don’t use AI to show off on YouTube. We use it to advance business communication objectives.

TRAINING:

Medieval Problem-Solving

An imagined, fanciful problem-solving training program from the Middle Ages.

Customer Complaints

The start of a module from a customer-service training program. Extended character remarks can be used in interactive training. Because it’s hard to get on-camera comments from real customers, this is another area in which AI shines.

Salesperson Wisdom

Used as the introduction to a module in a sales-training program. Because it isn’t easy to get salespeople from across an organization to one place to film, or to travel a crew around the country, this is another area in which AI shines.

Marketing/Advertising:

Giant Spider Attacks

Using AI, we quickly created a TV commercial for a pest control company. If AI didn’t exist, production and post-production would take a huge amount of time and cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What Bug Bugs Me

Another TV commercial for a pest-control company. Because videotaping real insects where you want to see them (for example: bedbugs in a bed, ants in a kitchen) is nearly impossible, this is another area in which AI shines.
